January 20, 2026 - 12:01
The City Council of Peñíscola reaffirms its commitment to promoting the destination and to sustainable tourism development through its participation in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026, which will be held in Madrid from 21 to 25 January. FITUR is one of the most important tourism events in the world and a key meeting point for destinations, industry professionals, media and the general public.
The Peñíscola delegation, led by the Mayor and representatives of the Department of Tourism, will take part in FITUR’s extensive programme of activities within the institutional space of the Valencian Community, which showcases the cultural, heritage and experiential diversity of the destinations that make up the region.
Enhancing the tourism offering through innovation and quality
In previous editions, Peñíscola has stood out at FITUR for the quality of its tourism offering, its commitment to innovation and film tourism, with participation in spaces such as FITUR Screen and round tables focused on experiences linked to cinema, gastronomy and new technologies applied to the sector.
Peñíscola’s presence at the fair will include the presentation of new tourism products, meetings with industry professionals to strengthen partnerships and networking, as well as meetings with organisations and companies operating in key markets. The aim is to enhance Peñíscola’s visibility as an attractive year-round destination and to highlight its cultural, natural, gastronomic and leisure resources.
Commitment to sustainability and quality tourism
Peñíscola will also showcase its commitment to sustainable tourism management and the continuous improvement of its services. In previous editions, the city has received recognition for its efforts in quality and sustainability standards, reinforcing its position as a responsible and competitive destination.
From the institutional stand, Peñíscola’s representatives will attend both professionals and media outlets and will take part in key activities of the FITUR 2026 programme, at a time when the fair is once again consolidating its position as an international benchmark for the sector, with the participation of countries, regions and companies from around the world.
