Como llegar a Peñiscola desde Zaragoza

If you are travelling to Peñíscola from Zaragoza, there are several options for reaching the coast of Castellón comfortably. The capital of Aragón is located just over 200 kilometres from Peñíscola, making it possible to complete the journey by car in approximately two and a half to three hours, depending on the chosen route and traffic conditions.

The most direct and shortest route is to take the N-232 towards Alcañiz and then continue through Morella and Vinaròs. This is a particularly scenic journey, crossing some of the most representative regions of inland Aragón and the province of Castellón. However, it also includes numerous stretches of conventional roads and winding sections, especially around Morella, so careful driving is recommended. Once you reach Vinaròs, simply follow the N-340 towards Valencia and, after approximately 14 kilometres, you will find the clearly signposted turn-off to Peñíscola.

Alternatively, the route preferred by many drivers combines national roads and motorway travel, offering a generally more comfortable and smoother journey. From Zaragoza, follow the N-232 to Alcañiz and shortly afterwards take the turn-off towards Gandesa. The route continues through Tortosa and l'Aldea, where you can join the AP-7 motorway towards Valencia. After several kilometres on the motorway, you will reach Exit 43 Peñíscola-Benicarló, providing easy access to the town. This option is often favoured by travellers looking for a more relaxed drive with fewer bends.

During the trip, it is also worth stopping to explore towns of great historical and cultural interest, such as Alcañiz, with its impressive castle and historic centre; Morella, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain; and Tortosa, a city with an important architectural heritage located on the banks of the River Ebro.

Once you arrive in Peñíscola, you will find convenient and well-signposted access routes to the town centre, beaches, residential areas and tourist accommodations. Thanks to its excellent road connections, the City in the Sea is one of the favourite destinations for weekend getaways and holidays among travellers from Aragón.
