What to Do in Peñíscola at Halloween

Once again, Peñíscola will celebrate Halloween with a variety of activities and special events, adding to the already wide range of options the town offers throughout the year. Halloween has become one of children's favourite celebrations, although adults also enjoy this spooky twist that will take centre stage over the coming weekend.

On Saturday, October 31, Halloween itself, celebrated on the eve of All Saints' Day, a fun children's party will take place at the Sociocultural Building from 5:30 p.m., where little ones can enjoy fancy dress, music and many other shows. At 8:30 p.m., the Correfoc, a traditional fire-run spectacle, will make its way through the streets of the town, performed by the La Carrasca fallas association from Benicarló. The event will finish along the seafront promenade, right in front of the town's iconic letters.

From midnight onwards, the Sociocultural Building will once again host another Halloween party, this time open to all audiences and organised by the En Almíbar social club. On Sunday, November 1, activities will get underway early, with the highlight being the Fantasía Heroica show, which will take place in three performances (11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.) in Santa María Square. The En Almíbar social club will return to the Sociocultural Building for an afternoon party starting at 5:00 p.m., followed at midnight by an even livelier celebration featuring a mobile disco at the same venue.

However, beyond the official programme, visitors can also enjoy the many attractions Peñíscola has to offer throughout the year, some of which will be specially themed for the occasion. For example, a visit to the Magic Museum by Yunke is a must, especially if you want to enjoy a performance by Yunke, one of the country's leading magicians.

Another fantastic option is to visit the Peñíscola Labyrinth, the largest in Spain, which will host special Halloween activities throughout the weekend. It will open on October 31 and November 1, and in addition to admission to the Peñíscola Labyrinth, visitors will be able to enjoy face painting, music and special shows in both the morning and afternoon. Activities will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

For those looking for a complete experience when discovering the town, a visit to Papa Luna Castle is essential. It is one of the best-preserved Templar castles in Europe and has recently undergone restoration work, with additional information provided about each of its rooms to create a truly immersive experience.

If you prefer adventure and outdoor activities, a boat trip on a golondrina will allow you to explore the Mediterranean coastline and enjoy some of the best views of the town from a different perspective. You can also opt for electric bike tours through the Sierra de Irta and its natural surroundings with Bicitour Irta. This is a different and truly special way to discover one of the most spectacular natural areas in the region.

Finally, a boat trip around Peñíscola is one of the most enjoyable ways to discover the town from the sea. These tourist boats sail along the coast, offering privileged views of the imposing Papa Luna Castle, the medieval walls and the hidden caves surrounding the peninsula. October 31 will be the last day of the season.

A complete and varied programme awaits everyone who decides to spend Halloween in Peñíscola, proving that beyond sun and beaches, the City by the Sea always has plenty to offer.
