Fire Station
The Baix Maestrat Professional Fire Station is located in Benicarló, on the northern coastal area of the province of Castellón, within the Baix Maestrat district. It is managed by the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Castellón (CPBC), which organizes and coordinates emergency response and fire suppression services for the municipalities of the province.
This fire station is particularly significant because it was the first one inaugurated by the CPBC, on 1 July 1988, marking the beginning of the professionalization of the fire service throughout the province.
Over the years, the growing demand for services and the need for modern facilities led to the construction of a new building to meet current requirements. These new facilities were opened on 13 March 2013, featuring more than 2,000 m² of usable space and updated equipment to respond more effectively to emergencies.
The station provides services to 14 municipalities in the district and covers both urban and rural areas, ensuring a fast and professional response to fires, rescues, and other incidents. Thanks to its strategic location in Benicarló, response times are reduced—approximately 10 minutes for towns such as Benicarló, Vinaròs, or Peñíscola—a key factor in emergency situations.
In addition to fire suppression, the station is equipped to carry out complex operations, with a vehicle fleet made up of several specialized units for prevention, firefighting, and rescue tasks, including vehicles adapted for water and high-angle rescues, as well as advanced communication systems that improve coordination during interventions.
This center is an essential element within the CPBC’s network of professional fire stations, complemented by three other stations located in Plana Baixa (Nules), Plana Alta (Oropesa), and Alto Palancia (Segorbe), all strategically distributed to ensure emergency coverage throughout the province of Castellón.
