Pextina Beach, located within the municipal boundaries of Peñíscola, is a small hidden cove very close to Pebret Beach, within the Serra d’Irta Natural Park. It is one of the last virtually unspoilt coastal spots in the area, ideal for those seeking tranquillity and direct contact with nature.

Pextina is approximately 35 metres long, around 15 metres wide, and has a total surface area of about 350 m², mainly composed of shells, sand and gravel. Its name refers precisely to this characteristic feature, as petxina means “shell” in Valencian, and it is common to find a large number of shells along the shoreline.

The beach generally has a low level of occupancy, even during the summer months, which enhances its intimate and uncrowded character. Its clear, shallow waters, together with the abundant marine life just a few metres from the shore, make it a particularly suitable spot for diving and snorkelling.

Access is easy: visitors can park in the parking area of Pebret Beach and then continue on foot to the cove via a short walk. During the summer months, Pextina offers one of its greatest attractions: the chance to enjoy spectacular sunsets with the castle of Peñíscola visible in the distance, a view highly appreciated by visitors and photographers alike.

The beach is equipped with signage, as well as police and cleaning services, all integrated within a protected environment where visitors are encouraged to respect the natural surroundings and help preserve this unique coastal enclave of Peñíscola.
