Cala l’Aljub is a small cove located in the southern part of the municipality and within the natural surroundings of the Sierra de Irta Natural Park, a protected area of great ecological value on the Costa del Azahar.

With a length of approximately 54 metres and a surface area of around 648 m², Cala l’Aljub is a sheltered and uncrowded spot where pebbles and sand predominate, giving it a rustic and natural character compared to the large urban beaches of Peñíscola.

This enclave stands out for its tranquillity and low occupancy, even during the high season, making it an ideal option for those seeking disconnection and calm in a more intimate setting.

In addition, Cala l’Aljub is well suited for snorkelling, thanks to the clarity of its waters and its rocky and gravel seabed, which favours the presence of marine life. On calm days, it is possible to observe fish, algae, and underwater rock formations very close to the shore.

Although it does not offer extensive beach services, it does have a simple, signposted parking area with capacity for 3–4 cars, as well as a waste collection service to help keep the area clean. Access is generally easiest from the southern road of Peñíscola, right at the entrance to the Natural Park; from there, a short path of about 300 metres leads directly to the beach. Another option is to drive along a dirt track accessed from the Residencial Edison, about 2 kilometres from the cove.

Cala l’Aljub’s location within the Sierra de Irta Natural Park also offers the opportunity to enjoy hiking routes and walks through a landscape where mountains and coastline merge, providing visitors with a complete nature experience.
