Peñíscola kicks off the San Antonio Abad program this weekend.
The various scheduled activities will take place throughout the month of January and include the descent of the tree, the Mayoral’s mass, the parade of horse riders, and the blessing of animals, among others.

The Sant Antoni Abad Association of Peñíscola has finalized all preparations for the start of the celebrations. The festivities will begin this Saturday at noon with one of the most traditional events: the ceremonial descent of the tree led by the horse riders.
On the 11th, starting at 11:00 a.m., a parade will take place featuring the Mayorales and members of the Commission, who will walk through the streets selling tickets for the traditional raffle. Later, on the 17th, the Day of the Mayoral will be celebrated, including a procession to the Hermitage of the Virgin of Ermitana at 10:30 a.m., followed by mass at 11:00 a.m.
On the 18th, ticket sales for the traditional raffle will resume at 11:00 a.m.
On the 24th at 6:30 p.m., the parade of horse riders will start from Plaza Sant Isidre and will conclude with the lighting of the bonfire at the Centro de Estudios parking area.
Finally, on the 25th at 10:30 a.m., mass will be held at the Parish of Santa María. Afterward, the blessing of animals will take place in Plaza Santa María, followed by the raffle draw.
